Here are the steps for using Office Deployment Tool for your reference:
Microsoft recommends using ODT for the new version of Office installation.
For your reference of ODT method of installation of Office. You can download Office Deployment Tool here.
NOTE: Kindly remove/uninstall any existing office apps before installing them using ODT. Also, make sure you have a way to install it back and re-activate it before uninstalling it. Change the configuration.xml from the example steps below to the name of your own .xml file .
And here are the example steps:
The steps to use the ODT are;
- Download the ODT file then install or extract it. You will notice some files like sample .xml file and setup.exe. Save your own XML file(attached) in the same folder.
- From the elevated Command prompt, go to the path of where the .xml file is by typing cd then the path from file explorer
- Once you’re in the correct directory run the command to download the data first using /download.
Monitor the downloading progress from search from your Windows: Resource Monitor>Network>look for setup.exe, if the setup.exe is no longer visible under the Network download is completed.
- After the download has been completed, the next command is /configure to install the app.
- A windows will pop-up saying installing office. (Sample image only)
- Activate the apps using the product key.
